Castle Café

The vaulted rooms of the former 17th century kitchen wing of Husum Castle today house the Castle Café. Guests can enjoy home made cakes, drinks and snacks in a very pleasant atmosphere and in the summer can partake of these on the terrace in the castle courtyard.

The Castle Café is a learning centre of the Theodor-Schäfer Training Institute for various trades in the catering field. Young disabled people are provided with an opportunity to receive practical training here. The trainees are taught how to deal with guests and get hands-on experience.

Thanks to a special ordering and communication system, which was specially developed, hearing impaired and deaf trainees can work waiting tables. The guests tick their orders on a special menu and pay later directly at the register.

Opening hours:
Tuesday to Friday 9.00 to 18.00
Saturday and Sunday 10.00 to 18.00
