Accessible and Child-friendly

In 2007 the museum was radically remodeled and refurbished. In the course of this refurbishment, special attention was paid to accessibility and a family-friendly design, which benefits all visitors.

Children and their parents can discover and try out lots of things together in the museum. You can relax in Café Brütt, the café in the museum, while your children play in the water playground in the museum´s gardens.

Moreover, all floors are accessible by elevator for wheelchair users , so all sections of the museum can be easily accessed.

There is a handicapped accessible toilet in the museum, which also has a changing table for babies and toddlers.

The barrier-free entrance to the museum can be reached from the parking lot of the Nissenhaus in Ludwig-Nissen Street, where you will also find disabled parking facilities.

In 2008,the museum was awarded the Wunnerland Certificate by the Tourism Agency of Schleswig-Holstein for being especially child-friendly.
